The movie follows Clive and Nigel, two British comic book enthusiasts who embark on a road trip to Comic-Con in San Diego. Along the way, they stumble upon Paul, an alien who has escaped from a secret government facility. Paul, who is on the run from the authorities, joins Clive and Nigel on their journey, leading to a series of hilarious misadventures.
