The video game industry has witnessed significant transformations over the years, with one of the most notable being the approach to save data management. This paper undertakes a comprehensive analysis of J Stars Victory, a popular fighting game, and the PlayStation 3 (PS3) save data policy, particularly focusing on the implications of free save data. By examining the user experience, data management practices, and community responses, this study aims to elucidate the advantages and disadvantages of providing free save data, using J Stars Victory and PS3 as case studies.
