The movie takes place 22 years after the events of the original Jurassic Park. A theme park, Jurassic World, has been built on the same island, Isla Nublar, by Simon Masrani, a wealthy entrepreneur. The park's manager, Claire Dearing (Bryce Dallas Howard), and Velociraptor trainer, Owen Grady (Chris Pratt), team up to stop a genetically modified hybrid dinosaur, the Indominus rex, from escaping and wreaking havoc on the park.
