The movie picks up where the second installment left off, with Po (Jack Black) facing a new challenge as he deals with the sudden passing of his adoptive father, Mr. Ping. Meanwhile, a powerful and evil entity known as Kai (J.K. Simmons) threatens the Valley of Peace. Kai has the ability to absorb the chi of kung fu masters, making him nearly invincible.
