The movie takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where a tyrannical leader named Immortan Joe (Hugh Keays-Byrne) controls a cult of followers. Joe's prized possession is a group of young women, known as the "Breeders," who are forced to bear children for him. One of the women, Furiosa, is tasked with leading a convoy to collect resources, but she betrays Joe and teams up with Max, a tough survivor, to take down Joe and his cult.
