The movie revolves around Ram Prasad Sharma (played by Shah Rukh Khan), a young man who was separated from his mother, Aarti (played by Neelam Kothari), at a very young age. Ram grows up in an orphanage and becomes a notorious don. Years later, Ram sets out to find his mother and sister, Sanjana (played by Rani Mukerji), who are being threatened by a powerful politician, Rajendra Nath (played by Satish Shah).
