As the story unfolds, we learn that Samaritan has been living a quiet life in Portland, Oregon, working as a janitor under the alias "Sam". However, his life takes a drastic turn when he is confronted by a powerful and evil force known as Homunculus (played by Pilou Asbæk), who is determined to eliminate Samaritan and claim his powers for himself.
