Mirza turned pro in 2003 and quickly made a name for herself on the WTA tour. She won her first WTA title in 2004 at the Bangalore Open, becoming the first Indian woman to win a WTA title. Over the years, she has won numerous titles, including six Grand Slam titles – three in women's doubles and three in mixed doubles.
