Born on November 15, 1986, in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, Shruti Hassan was brought up in a family of artists. Her mother, Uma Maheswari, was a renowned Bharatanatyam dancer, and her father, Narasimha Hassan, was a well-known film lyricist and screenwriter. Shruti's exposure to the arts from a young age instilled in her a passion for performance and storytelling.
