The film is based on the true story of the Perron family, who claimed to have been haunted by a malevolent spirit in their farmhouse in Rhode Island. The Warrens, experienced paranormal investigators, are called in to help the family, and they soon discover that the spirit is a vengeful entity that has been awakened by a dark presence.
