The movie picks up where the first Guardians of the Galaxy left off. Peter Quill, still reeling from the loss of his mother, learns that his true parentage is not what he expected. His father, Ego, is a Celestial who wants to connect with his son. However, Ego's intentions are not pure, and the Guardians must stop him from carrying out his plans.
